The Onion ditches satire on April Fools.
The satirical newspaper The Onion has decided to ditch satire for one single day - April Fools Day. Instead, the paper will highlight serious issues across the world, including the genocide in Darfur and human rights abuses in Tibet. "We thought, how can a satirical paper do an April Fools joke?" explained Onion editor Joe Randazzo "So instead we are devoting April Fools day to some very serious issues, which is an April Fools of sorts for a paper that jokes and makes fun of things the rest of the time!"
